The United States men's basketball team continues its quest for gold on Tuesday evening by taking on Tunisia in Group A action. The preliminary round game is scheduled for a 5:15 p.m. EST start time and it will be televised nationally on NBC Sports Network. 2012 Olympics Basketball USA vs. Tunisia Odds and Picks have the Americans as massive favorites at -53.5 points with the total for the game set at 164.5 points.
The Americans return five players from the 2008 Olympians in Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Deron Williams. Newcomers to the team this year include Tyson Chandler, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Andre Iguodala, and Kevin Love, making them an obvious choice to be the best team assembled in the world. Not many people are expecting any team in the Olympics to even cause the Americans problems in the 2012 Summer Games as the USA is still the massive favorites to win the Gold medal this year in Great Britain.
In United States' first game of the pool play, they were 24.5 point favorites over France and went on to beat down on the French 98-71 in a contest that was a decent matchup in the opening half before it got ugly in the second half. Argentina is the only other team in the Olympics that has scored more points than the Americans in a single game, beating up on Lithuania 102-79 in their first pool play matchup of the Games.
Tunisia scored just 56 points in their first game of the Olympics, a game in which they lost to Nigeria 60-56. Tunisia scored in single digits in the first two quarters on Sunday afternoon, totaling just seven points in the first 10 minutes and eight more in the second. Yet, they still only trailed 31-15 at the break, which allowed them to stay in the game, even though they ultimately lost.
2012 Olympics Basketball USA vs. Tunisia Odds:

France +53.5 (-110), Under 164.5 (-110)
