Las Vegas and offshore bookmakers have the 2013 Detroit Lions Super Bowl odds currently at 18-1 ($100 wager would pay $1800), with the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots the favorites at 5-1. With the Packers picked to win the NFC at 5-2, the Lions are tied with the New York Giants at 8-1 and only trail the 49ers (4-1), Eagles (4-1) and Saints (5-1) to capture the conference championship. With their 10-6 regular season mark last year, Detroit easily surpassed the 2011 NFL regular season win total bookmakers posted of 7.5. Las Vegas is not underestimating the Lions as they did in 2011 and already have them listed as 9.5 point favorites to open up the regular season over the St. Louis Rams.

Detroit Lions Draft Tidbit: Detroit took some heat on local sports radio when they drafted Oklahoma WR Ryan Broyles in the 2nd round pick with their 54th pick due to his ACL injury. Lions fans can find some solace in the fact bookmakers when releasing their NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds listed Broyles with the same or better odds of earlier drafted wide receivers such as Kendall Wright (20th), AJ Jenkins (30th), Brian Quick (33rd) and Stephen Hill (43rd) at 20-1 (Andrew Luck is the favorite at 3-1).
