As a Horse owner I have been there it is the most sickening feeling you can ever experience. Especially how yesterday's took place. Your Filly took on the Best Colts in the Country and was second best. You go from a career high as a owner to the worst feeling in the world just a few steps across the finish line.

There has always been a debate about running a filly against colts. The Owners could of went the easier route and ran in the Kentucky Oaks on Friday which would have been a much easier race.  But chose to go for history. Not saying it was right or wrong just not the decision I would make.

No question racing a filly against the Colts means she has to race harder and just like with pro athlete's injuries are more likely to occur late when the body is getting tired and pushed harder.

That is why I don't chose to race a filly against the colts. 

My heart goes out to the Owners as the racing world lost a great filly...
