The final regular season game of the 2010 college football season is set for 2:30 ET from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. It's the 111th meeting between Army and Navy, a series which began in 1890 (wasn't there for that one). Army has lost eight straight contests to Navy, getting outscored 291-74 (36.4-to-9.3 PPG). However, the 2010 season has been a unique one for the service academies. The Black Knights... Read more

Raise your hand if anyone even remotely understands the current ruling handed down by the NCAA regarding Cam Newton’s eligibility. Here’s how the story unfolded this week. Auburn declared Newton ineligible on Monday (who heard about it?) but also immediately applied to the NCAA to have him reinstated. Being the benevolent institution that it is, the NCAA ruled that while Newton’s father violated NCAA rules, there was... Read more

The nation's top-4 schools in the BCS standings were the lone remaining unbeaten teams in CFB 2010. No. 4 Boise State was the first to play on Friday night and the Broncos won handily, 52-14. Saturday's results saw No. 1 Oregon get a real scare at Cal (won 15-13), No. 2 Auburn shake off an early 21-7 deficit to win 49-28 vs Georgia and No. 3 TCU play the strangest game of all. The Horned Frogs quickly fell behind 14-0... Read more

Nine of last week's BCS top-25 teams went down to defeat this past weekend, although the top-four won 53-16 (Oregon), 62-24 (Auburn), 47-7 (TCU) and 42-7 (Boise St). Oregon remained No. 1 for the second straight week in the BCS standings and Auburn No. 2 but both schools control their own destiny. If Oregon and Auburn both "win out," the two schools will meet in the national championship game. If so, the game would also... Read more

Alabama entered the 2010 season as the defending national champs and the consensus No. 1 team in the country. The Tide extended its winning streak to 19 games but lost at South Carolina 35-21 back on October 9. Ohio State, winners of 12 in a row, took over the No. 1 spot when the new polls came out the following day, earning the AP's top spot for the first time since the final regular season poll of the 2007 season. That... Read more

Alabama received a season-high 58 first-place votes (of 60) in the October 3 AP poll but those same pollsters showed the Tide very little 'love' after their 35-21 loss on Saturday at South Carolina. The defending national champs faced a brutal three-game stretch which saw them win 24-20 at then-No. 10 Arkansas and crush then-No. 7 Florida 31-6 in Tuscaloosa before losing to the Gamecocks. Alabama dropped all the way to... Read more

We saw five games involving top-25 opponents this past Saturday, with the higher ranked team winning four (exception was Wisconsin losing at Michigan State). No. 1 Alabama crushed Florida but defending Heisman winner Mark Ingram had a 'quiet' game. No. 2 Ohio State struggled at Illinois (won 24-13) and QB Mark Pryor left for awhile with a minor injury. Boise State's Kellen Moore played just one series in the second half... Read more

1) TERRELLE PRYOR (Ohio State) Last Week: 1. Terrelle Pryor completed 16 straight passes this past Saturday, setting a new school record (previous record was 12, most recently by Craig Krenzel 2002) in a 43-7 rout of Ohio U. It's the second-longest in Big Ten history as well, behind Iowa's Chuck Long, who completed 22 in a row back in 1984. I guess Ohio State remembered that two years ago the Bobcats led the Buckeyes... If one had to vote on the Heisman today, clearly Michigan QB Denard Robinson would be the easy winner. However, were are not voting today and much like with the AP and Coaches' polls, players (like schools in the polls), don't get to jump to the "head of the class" after two weeks. The two biggest developments over the weekend regarding the Heisman came in Alabama's dominating 24-3 win over Penn State and in James Madison... Read more

The 2010 college football season is only one week old but we already have major developments in the season's Heisman race. Alabama won its 15th straight game with ease (48-3 over San Jose St) but the Tide did it without last year's Heisman winner, Mark Ingram. Alabama outgained the Spartans 591-to-175 in yards, including 247 rushing yards on 41 carries (6.3 YPC). Ingram had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee after... Read more
