HAWKS: Winning Game 1 on the road in Orlando was vital for Atlanta, because it gave them the belief that they can win. The Hawks have struggled mightily when trailing in playoff series, both physically and mentally. Atlanta played one of their strongest games of the season, winning by double digits. The Hawks have a wonderful opportunity tonight to take complete control of this series, as they can go home up 2-0 in their best of 7 series with the Magic. MAVERICKS: (-3.5, o/u 182.5) Dallas showed in Game 1 why they feel they are a different team than what they've been in the past. The Mavericks came from behind in the 4th quarter to beat the Blazers 89-81 SU. Even though they are the higher seed and have home court advantage, many people believed that Dallas would ultimately lose this series. The Mavericks are stronger mentally this year than at any other time during the Dirk Nowitzki era, and it proved true in Game 1. PG Jason Kidd was amazing in Game 1, as he had 24 points and a team high 4 assists. Kidd made 6 of his 10 three pointers, a huge shooting night for the veteran. Dallas attempted 29 free throws to the Blazers 13 attempts, the ultimate difference in the game. Dallas is 30-12 SU and 20-20 ATS in home games this season.
