Finally the NFL season begins today and we're all obviously very
excited that we can watch football the whole Sunday once again! As usual, my first play of the regular season is free! No charge at all! I'll also use this moment to personally wish all of you a very profitable NFL season!
@
TENNESSEE PITTSBURGH
Pittsburgh
will be the host of the opening game of the season and although they
are carrying all the hype and momentum from the last Superbowl, winning
this game won't be a mere walkthrough game for the Champs.
In fact the Titans are probably one of the worst matchups for the
Steelers regardless the scenario in which the game will be played. Last
season the Steelers were always in trouble when facing the best
defensive teams of the league. Looking for the 7 best defensive teams
of last season, the Steelers faced the Ravens twice, Eagles, Redskins,
Giants and the Titans. In those 6 games, the Steelers have won just 3
of them and the ATS record was 2-4. The biggest reason for the
struggles was the fact that the Steelers had a mere average Offensive
line. They allowed a whopping 46 sacks during the regular season! In
those 6 games, Ben Roethlisberger was sacked 29 times! Naturally that
the Steelers struggled on the offense and I expect the same to happen
tonight, as not only they didn?t make any substantial upgrade in their
Offensive Line, but also the Titans with head coach Jeff Fisher will
once again be a top defensive team this season.
The Titans lost during the offseason pro-bowl defensive tackle
Albert Haynesworth and even though he is a top caliber defensive
player, the Titans have a good system and his loss won't be as
devastating, as the media is having you believe it is. Just look at the
game between these two teams last season: the Titans defeated the
Steelers 31-14, with Ben Roethlisberger being sacked 5 times and picked
off 2 times and Haynesworth DID NOT play that game! The Steelers
struggled to run last season, as Willie Parker was banged up all the
time and apparently this problem won't disappear soon, as a hamstring
injury limited Parker to just four carries during the preseason.
Obviously the Steelers had last season the best defense of the
league and this season it won't be different, as they will once again
be in the top. We watched some huge Interceptions made by them last
season, which were returned with Touchdowns, but against the Titans,
it's hard to believe that will happen. Not only they have one of the
best Offensive Lines of the league, as last season they were sacked
just 12 times (second best in the league), but also they run a very
conservative offensive system. QB Kerry Colins was picked off only 7
times last season and they are a run oriented team with the dynamic
RB's duo of Chris Johnson and LenDale White and so, I expect the Titans
to run the football avoiding any possible big play dropdown.
I predict this game to be a Field Goal parade fest, as with such
good defensive teams on the field, both teams will have problems in
moving the ball. My real line for this game is just the home court
advantage for the Steelers plus one or two points. With us having the
Titans with a +6.5 points line, this give us some great value and
that's why I'm taking the Titans tonight.
