Of the people , for the people, by the people.
yeah right.
The way things were originally set up to send "representatives" to Washington was because in that time it was impractical for people to travel back and forth to Washington on horse and buggy every time something required a vote. So it was decided for every region to send a representative to stay in Washington to make the votes for their constituency.
With the invention of the internet the non-representing representatives are now obsolete as we can eliminate their pays and take the voting matters in our own hands.
My suggestion to remedy all of this both Federally and Locally is to allow every registered voter to take and pass a Civics class first and then be allowed to vote on any and all matters on either a weekly or monthly basis over a cup of coffee from the comfort of their own homes from an encrypted secured government voting website.
Just think of all the things we could change if WE really had the POWER.
