After an up and down day yesterday catching some winners and our longshot running a strong 3rd paying $8.20 for show, we try to get a few sloppy winners today.
Race 2: #7 NORMANDY QUEEN. 9/2 ML. Cuts back to a 1 turn mile today where she is 2 for 2 with tactical speed.
Race 4: #9 3-1 ML. LIBERAL ART. 3 for 3 on a wet track, 2nd off a layoff and has hit the board in all 4 at CD and all 3 at the distance.
Race 5: #6 3-1 ML. SACRED WISH. Classy horse that may get the lead by default here with the scratch of the 10.
Race 7: #8 7/2 ML. ROGUE LIGHTNING. 2nd start in US, should like the soft turf from his Euro days and look for him to turn the tables on the #7.
Race 8: #6 12-1 ML. EXTRA ANEJO. Asmussen has been high on this horse for quite some time and has pointed this horse to this race. The #10 Baffert horse will be tough and Prat jumped ship from the #6 to ride Baffert's horse. Let's hope the jockey and agent are wrong today on who the best horse is.
Race 10: #2 8-1 ML. KOPIAN. Should get a nice stalking trip and has pulled away last 2 at the distance to win easy. I will box him also with the 7 and 11.
Race 12: #21 12-1 ML. KY DERBY. BAEZA. I was wanting this horse to get in and will break from the 19 post. This horse is lightly raced and still green but has tons of talent. If you look back at the SA derby, he broke out, went 6 wide on the first turn, lost 10 lengths and then decided to get into the race. He went 4 wide on the final turn, took the lead and started looking around. When Journalism got to his neck Baeza re-engaged to lose by 3/4. Also if you look at the ride out, Baeza passed Journalism once again after a long stretch drive. Will wheel him around with all in exacta's and then use him in a Tri with #17, #9, #7 and #8. Always a tough race!
Race 13: #7 12-1 ML. MULTIVERSE. Getting better every race, should relish the off track and slightly extra distance.
Race 14: #12 3-1 ML. PURSUITNEVERSLEEPS. 2nd time starter just missed first out from the rail. Horse he lost to came back to win next out. Should handle the wet track also and expect him to cross the finish line first.
As always Best of Luck!
