I agree with what you are saying in theory, about a fighter needing to have heart and something to fight for to get up for the battle. I don't question this with Thompson at all though. Like I said earlier in the thread, I whole-heartedly believe Thompson won rounds 1, 2 and 4 in the 2nd Woodley fight. That could've been enough to break his spirit a little after the decision and send him in the wrong direction. But instead he came back and beat Masvidal 30-27 30-27 and 30-26.
At the end of the day, I think this fight goes one of 2 ways. Either Till gets a finish in the first 8 or so minutes of the fight, or Wonderboy picks him apart over 5 rounds and Till can't keep up for the longer fight. Till has only been in the 4th round 1 time in his pro career, and it wasn't in the UFC. If Thompson can take a couple shots and survive the early adrenaline, I think he wins going away. I wouldn't be surprised by a Wonderboy finish but it just depends on Till's gastank and where Thompson would feel like he is on the scorecards.
Best of luck to you and anyone else who is taking these fights. Gonna be a fun card Sunday.
