Skipping ahead to this event bc Stephen Wonderboy Thompson is -165 vs Darren Till (+135).
I LOVE Thompson in this fight. Till is undefeated I believe and is a real up and comer. But this is a massive leap in competition. Thompson should be fighting dos Anjos for the title instead of Covington in June. Till has gotten a lot of respect after he smashed Cerrone in his last fight. Stylistically though, Wonderboy is the complete opposite if Cerrone. Cerrone said he didn't even know who Till was and didn't care and just showed up to fight. And it was less than 3 months after his loss to Lawler. Stephen Thompson is a unique fighter. A puzzle unlike anything Till has seen. His sideways stance and karate style is rare in MMA bc there just aren't a ton of guys who can master those skills at the highest level. In Thompson's last 4 fights he beat Rory McDonald (don't be fooled by him being in Bellator now that's a great win), had a draw with Woodley, lost to Woodley by split decision (Thompson won that fight 48-47 and I will die on that hill), and he beat Masvidal who is currently ranked #6. This is too much too soon for Till and I will be all over Wonderboy at -165. And I would probably take him up to -180.
