When I was here as "SpaceMan1" I had W/L Season Totals posted here and still have unwatched video form last year's YT Channel.
Will take a look at that later this week and Post update just to see how I did.
USUALLY I win more than I lose w/ Totals because I primarily bet the UNDER Win Totals. It is hard to win 10 - 11 games in the NFL, I don't care
what anyone out there says.
Every late August of each year my wife and her only surviving Aunt on her father's side have a 3 day weekend bash at Vegas, they usually stay at
the Aria. Wife calls me to see if I want to put a Futures, etc. just for fun.
We won each of the last five (5) years and I will have to get out the records to check my sanity and memory: I WON that Patriots O/U season W total that was 11.5; they only lost 5 games that last great Season under Brady, and if memory serves me well they were ALL Road games, a FIRST for the Pats in many years. Hard to go 8 - 0 at Home I don't care who you are or who you were.
This year when she called me I had a "hard pass" because after the Supe last Feb. I have not done ONE ounce of research/reading/whatever.
Upset that the NFL is getting like MLB with trades all of the time but until the FANS revolt against that this will continue.
My Doggie passed June 9, 2024 and I have not fully recovered. I never had this happen this way and it has affected me and I am not ashamed to say such. Had TWO wonderful Doggies in a row the last 16 years and yes, we got a new Doggie named Charlie on June 21, 2024, and he was an abused former show-dog that was relinquished back to the Shelter five ( 5) times in 3 months. Charlie's Lottery Ticket came in; we are not giving up on Charlie, and he is the gentlest Dog all-time. Matter-of-fact when the Shelter told us about their "check-up's" to our home to see how things are going, they never got back to us. Why? This is our 3rd Dog from a wonderful non-profit outfit outside Santa Paula, CA and they know us well and we go to the Pooch Parades and they know my wife really well.
Charlie is so skittish he still "jumps" and is easily startled. He acts like just what you all are thinking right now. Shakes, won't go to bed on time, however is superbly house-trained and when on walks every now-and-then he does his "Prance Steppings" and I told my wife that is what ShowDogs can be trained to do. More on my favorite Topic, Doggies, another day.
Getting my brain back to the NFL, which at this point might be a good distraction for me ( we all have our trials and tribulations) and the Theme of the Possibility of the CHIEFS Three-Peating in the NFL is a top-notch storyline. I can't think of any better storyline and yes, that will keep many NFL fans engaged as long as the CHIEFS continue to win.
I think I read somewhere here on Pregame.com that this Season is the Ninth (9th) time a NFL Team will try to kick through and win Three (3) Seasons in a row. Baseball has had this, so has Basketball. Not sure about Hockey, but might look that up if I can remember to. I do recall the Oakland Athletics of MLB of the '70's winning three years in a row. Why? They kept beating my beloved Baltimore Orioles every MLB playoff season to get to the final dance. I recall reading about the NY Yankees winning many years in a row. UCLA Bruins Men's basketball under the late, great HC John Wooden had winning streaks as well.
To win in the NFL an extreme amount of "variables" are at play in ANY NFL game. One play is "built-off-the-previous-play" meaning the Offense has to decide on the NEXT play how to achieve progress. QB takes a 13 yard Loss on 1st Down, now you are facing 2nd and 23, a huge mountain to climb. Running a FB "trap" run up the gut is out of the questions. Screen Pass? Now you are thinking correctly.
I will get to a close soon here as not to waste your time. The Gambler BEAST that still rages within me says go get a Loan and drive the truck up to whomever will book the following bet:
CHIEFS will NOT Three-peat.
If that B-slapping teams the Steelers had in the '70's could not three-peat( they repeated TWO times in a five-year period, that ONE "off year" may have cost them the ONLY FIVE-Peat - think about that!!!) I just don't think any modern NFL team can do that. The casual relaxed rules regarding Free Agency ( FA), then the NFL tinkered with "Restricted" FA rules, Salary caps, Revenue sharing, Franchise cap two players bs. and other things that escape me for the moment are really designed for the MONEY making Sports Franchising WAS and ONLY purpose: keep teams "cycling": bottom-feeders, .400ers. .500ers, .550ers with a sniffing of Post Season(s), .500-.700 for a few years ( New England Patriots the LONE Exception with Dallas Cowboys a distant 2nd in 1990s), then a "whoops" season where the team(s) fall on the asses .300/.350, they may or may not bounce .450/.550 a year or two - then back to total collapse to their "bottom-feeder" and REBUILDING as if that is a "good" thing. Think a few years ago AZ Cardinals was ONE win away from toppling Seahawks for NFC West SEA wins Supe then AZ dropped like a rock from a plane in the sky.
For those few who has the means to go back and watch the replay of the Chiefs @ *RAVENS AFC Title game, go watch that. *RAVENS nearly pulled off a great comeback but it was TWO great Chiefs' D plays that saved the day for them. Chief's 1st Q play was about the BEST 1st Q I ever seen and I have watched more NFL than anyone I know. The CHIEFS had already set the NFL record for hosting the most consecutive HOME AFC Title games but LAST year they had to travel to *BAL as *BAL had the better record/seeding.
CHIEFS will be slightly overvalued more than they normally would be just having won a Supe, so there is a good strategy to fade them in certain spots.
See ya next time,
