Underwhelming offenses posted on VSIN
As noted in yesterday’s email, Unders are 26-6 (81.3%) so far in the NFL preseason.
A lot of these UNDERs are due to the fact that almost all teams are disregarding the preseason altogether and opting to ensure they are 100% healthy when it comes to the regular season. Offenses are far from sharp at this point. Preseason has become a garbage product and waste of time. Last week alone, 16 teams' starting QBs sat, and those that did play mostly only went for a series, some of which were three plays.
Statistically speaking, I was actually somewhat taken aback when I saw the first full-week totals. Usually they close with an average of around 36.5. This year's games closed 37.3 after they got bet up about a point. This past week's got bet up from 35.4 to 36.1, so bettors were still expecting a rebound. Again I go back to my point of these teams not caring.
Interestingly, on the splits, systems and trends for the Week 2 NFL Preseason Analytics report, there were 26 UNDER recommendations, 16 OVER recommendations (62%), so clearly the smart bettors are winning with UNDERs. We'll see how the ratio comes out on this final week. I can't imagine it will be a whole lot different, as this is typically a less scoring week than Week 2.
After watching the Packers' futile effort on Sunday night, I have just one thought: The regular season can't come fast enough!
I couldn't agree more. For those that follow my post's you have heard me say more than once that I don't bet pre-season and I don't bet the first 3 weeks of the regular season, like the man says above " Offenses are far from sharp"...... "Preseason is becoming a garbage product and a waste of time"
