Apparently, Sarah Thomas named her son Brady, and after the poorly called game that provided a huge benefit to the Bucs in the first half fingers were being pointed at her. But she only made two calls, none in the secondary. One did lead to a fourth-down conversion and an eventual TD rather than FG attempt, but the blame falls on KC for lining up in the neutral zone, not her for seeing it. It was Mecole Hardman who lined up in the neutral zone. If you were rooting for the Bucs, you'd agree with Mae West when she said that a Hardman is good to find.

After critiquing the zebras for being "overly officious" in the first half the author goes on to say, "Sarah Thomas needs to hold her head high tonight. She had excellent mechanics and showed good judgment." Then later, "Generally a quiet game for half the crew, and some rough spots elsewhere. Eyes were on Sarah Thomas before the game, but during it was a pedestrian walk throughout. An early offside call was there, and there was a tight call on a 4th and goal, upheld in replay."
So the narrative that a woman screwed up the officiating looks overstated, if not outright false. Men need no help from a woman to call a football game, they are quite capable of influencing the outcome on their own, thank you.
