Broncos (+7) over Steelers
The Broncos felt like they let a game get away last week vs the Titans as they lost by 2 and wasn’t able to punch the ball in the end zone from inside the Titans 5 yard line in the first half on 4th and 1. Against a top defense in the Titans Drew Lock and the Broncos offense was able to move the ball and puck up 323 yards of offense while missing their top WR in Courtland Sutton. He’s been limited in practice but still has a good chance to play and that will be a nice addition for Drew Lock adding another playmaker that the Steelers have to account for. They’ll be without Phillip Lindsay but still have Melvin Gordon who averaged 5 YPC and has played in his share of big games. I like the Broncos to keep it close and have a shot to win late.
270 Jets (+7) over 49ers
The Jets offense wasn’t that good last week as they only gained 15 first downs,254 yards of offense and 17 points but they were up against one of the 5 best defenses from a year ago that didn’t get any worse. They’ll be up against another top 5 defense from a year ago in the 49ers but they’re banged up right now dealing with injuries to both sides of the ball so I think the Jets should have their opportunities to score and keep the close. Crowder is out for the Jets which is a big blow but they have some respectable weapons in Herndon, Perriman and ex 49er legend Frank Gore. I also gave the Jets out as a teaser to +13 on the betting predators podcast.
**274 Colts (-3) over Vikings BEST BET**
The Colts uncharacteristically got away from their identity late in the game last week vs the Jaguars but I don’t expect that to happen again this week. Jonathan Taylor has been getting the first team reps in practice since Marlon Mack is out for a few weeks and he’s a work horse back I expect Phillip Rivers to lean on to help limit his chances of committing drive killing turnovers.
281 Redskins (+7) over Cardinals
Cardinals pulled off a nice upset last week over a banged up 49ers team but nothing showed me that they’re ready to be 7 point favorites in just a weeks time. Washington’s front 7 took advantage of a banged up Eagles offensive line and I expect them to do the same to one of the leagues worst offensive lines from a year ago.
288 Seahawks (-4) over Patriots
This game was my matchup of the week on betting predators with Russell Wilson vs Bill Belichick’s defense. The Seahawks offensive coordinator did the right thing by letting Russ cook early and often in Week 1 and I see it being no different against the Patriots. New England is replacing 9 out of 11 key starters and rotation players from last years top 5 defense so Wilson should be able to take advantage of their lack of continuity and experience as he is one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
