Since 2014, the UNDER is 48-23 (67.6%) in games that include a team who lost by 30 points or more in their previous game. This includes 2 examples from last week...the Rams/Cardinals game went under 46.5 following Los Angeles' blowout loss to Baltimore and the Raiders/Chiefs game went under 50 after the Raiders blowout loss to the Chiefs.
There is one game that fits this trend this week. The Raiders host the Tennessee Titans after losing to Kansas City 40-9.
I like to put the trend out there and let you all decide if there is something to it. If I was going to put some logic to it, I'd say maybe this has to do with a defense wanting to bounce back after getting embarrassed the week before. A proud defense like the Rams' was going to come out with their hair on fire after getting smacked around by the Ravens. On average, these teams have given up 43.2 points per game the week of their 30+ point loss but just 22.4 points per game in the week after.
As seen by the Raiders/Chiefs example, this isn't always the case. Sometimes you'll get a case like the Raiders/Chiefs that went under because the Oakland offense was terrible for the 2nd consecutive week.
So who knows if it means anything, but I just wanted to make everyone aware of this one!
