I wasn’t going to post anything concerning this but I feel I need to address Dr Chucks comments.
I realized that I had inadvertently posted the wrong team, never said it was a spell check issue, when a friend texted me asking why I picked the Bengals in the Pregame contest when I had told him I wouldn’t bet the Bengals with counterfeit money. I said I didn’t take Bengals. I took Falcons, Jags, Bucs, Bills and Giants. He said that’s not what you posted. I went back and looked, saw my mistake, and then asked if a revision was allowable. I was told it was so I assumed my change was accepted. I never looked at what another contestants selections were. Really could care less. I pick who I LIKE, not what someone else likes.
As for when an objection should be lodged Dr Chuck the answer to that is simple. Anytime BEFORE the outcome of the games in question has become obvious. Seems like that’s the common sense answer to your question. Any after the fact objection will always be viewed with a grain of salt especially when made by someone with something to gain.
I am truly sorry that an innocent mistake on my part and a simple question have caused such an issue for some. Thankfully the vast majority of the comments have supported Fish in his decision given all the facts and the timeline.
That’s all I got. Hope I clarified what happened and why I asked for the change. And that I answered Dr Chucks question as to when an objection should be lodged. As Fish so aptly stated, timing is everything!!
Good luck the rest of the year to everyone. The Pregame community is filled with some outstanding handicappers. I respect all of your abilities.
Merry Christmas!
