Ththaman ... I'm not crazy about betting either side of the CIN/IND game at IND -3. Here are the three factors that are keeping me off of CIN right now.
1. No Burfict. He's suspended for the first four games. His absence is being undervalued in my opinion, particularly because...
2. CIN has a new DC. CIN let go of Bill Guenther (now DC in OAK) and brought in ex-DET DC Teryl Austin. Guenther's departure is being undervalued in my opinion, especially when we consider his replacement. Teryl Austin led DET's defense from 2014-2017. In those seasons, this is how DET ranked:
2014: 17.6 PPG (2nd); 300.9 YPG (2nd)
2015: 25 PPG (23rd); 349.6 YPG (18th)
2016: 22.4 PPG (13th); 354.8 YPG (18th)
2017: 23.5 PPG (21st); 355.8 YPG (28th)
CIN dealing with a major downgrade at DC.
3. Much has been made about the fact that Andrew Luck hasn't pushed the ball down the field in preseason. The vast majority of his throws have been 20 yards or less. I have been completely satisfied with the velocity we have seen on these throws. In many ways it takes more arm strength to throw a 15 yard bullet than a 30 yard touch pass. Luck looks 100% to me. Rust could be an issue certainly, but his arm is ready.
Best of luck this weekend sir. Enjoy the games.
