New England Patriots.
2017 Offense: 2nd Overall (1st Passing, 13th Running, 3rd Scoring, 3rd YPP)
2017 Defense: 26th overall (29th passing, 26th Running, 7th Scoring, 31st YPP)
2018 Outlook:
OFFENSE: Patriots should once again have a very explosive offense, with a clever scheme, ability to adjust on a weekly basis, based upon the opponents' weaknesses. Without a doubt a top 5 offense in the league, they should score a lot of points, regardless of what the opponents present their way.
They are extremely deep at RB, have a fairly pedestrian WRs corps, but one that is very good at implementing their specific role. They have possibly the best QB and without question the best TE of all time. Pretty average OL, but a play caller that is able to hide their shortcomings.
Brady and the Pats absolutely shredded two of the best defenses in the league, in JAX and PHI, last year. As long as Brady stays healthy they will be very, very tough to stop.
DEFENSE: A unit that finished 26th overall is not much improved coming into this season. Question marks at pass rusher still linger, though they did get better at stopping the run, with the addition of Danny Shelton. Pats played a bend but don't break Defense in 2017 and they figure to do very much the same thing this year. Their front 7 is a bottom 10 in the NFL type unit, but Belichick is very adept at stopping opponents' offenses once they get in the end zone.
This is an 11-12 win team, given a very weak overall strength of schedule, and playing in the weakest division in football.
