Another CFB & NFL Season is upon us. The advantage of having a 5-night a week sports talk show has it’s advantages. I get many guests prior to and during the respective football campaigns that allows me an opportunity to stay on top of most teams.
Like Brad Powers, I am a CFB guy first. If I had one sport to watch it would be College Football. I watch hundreds of games and especially like the season more around three to five games in. In the handicapping industry like everything else in today’s society it’s all about instant gratification. What have you done for me lately?
I come off my best CFB & NFL Campaigns and one of my best College Hoops seasons as well. Will I match last years numbers? Heck, I hope to better them but in this industry there are very few sure things. I feel I am able to scout games better than 90% of the folks out there. It’s something that I’ve been doing for a long time and learning from past mistakes is key in this game.
The NFL numbers are the tightest of any team sport to handicap because there are only 32 teams and there is a week in between games. That said, I had my best NFL season in a long time as I had hovered around .500 the past 4 years prior.
My life has evolved around sports and sports handicapping for decades. While I would like to sit here and tell you I will make you major money each week, I cannot do that. What I can tell you is that I will be putting in countless man hours each and every day of the season which pretty much, NO DAYS OFF!
I am constantly watching games and replays of other games back each day of the week while preparing for my weekday radio show. You will get my BEST EFFORT and in this industry that’s important!
I could do a write-up on each CFB Conference and each NFL Division but that would take up too much time and space. I remember doing mega write ups for each game. Knowing all the stats and names of players and coaches is all well and good but bottom line is to win more games than you lose. I also remember taking comments and opinions too seriously on my handicapped games that lost. The competitive nature in me combined with that street smart Jersey personality had me wanting to jump through my computer to combat every negative comment. Handicapping games is a business. It is a business that I take seriously. Knowing that people are wagering their money on games that I have suggested is both rewarding and stressful at times. I don’t like to lose, never have, never will. When getting set to cap another season, I know just take it in stride. Maybe my marriage last year to a great lady has helped mellow me out which is a good thing. The competitive nature is still there and I will continue to do the blue collar, grind it out work that is needed in this business to stay on the right side of the ledger. When you put your money on me it will be money well spent! Here’s to a successful 2017-2018 NFL & CFB season and thanks to all of you who have put your money behind me over the yaers. My last 8 Games of the Year in any sport ( 6-2 ) has been solid. My 3-star unit plays are powerful. Let the Games Begin!
