ok guys, was thinking about ways to parlay the 2 championship series in NBA/NHL.
i really WANT the Mavs to win (and took a nibble of Luka MVP when it was +280 before WCF ended, now it's around +200), but i do think Boston will prevail... i dont want to lay the big price on the Celtics, and I dont want to try to thread the needle with "Boston in 6" or "Mavs +1.5 games".
so what if we take Boston series ML at -225, and parlay it with something in the Stanley Cup. I dont know enough about hockey to have a strong opinion on the NHL result... I do have a +850 future on the Panthers to hoist the Cup, so i'm hoping they win. but what if we take EDM +2.5 games, that way we cover if EDM wins, AND if Florida were to win 4-3 or 4-2.
In the 90s, only 3 out of 10 Cup series went to 6 or 7 games... the rest only went 4 or 5, including a late 90s run of 4 straight sweeps. But starting in 1999... so over the last 25 years, only 6 series have gone under 6 games. (ok, 2 of the last 3 only went 5 games, including last year... so maybe we're due to get back to 6 or 7 games.)
so how about these options:
Parlay Celtics to win series w/ Edmonton +2.5 games (-131)
Parlay Mavs +2.5 w/ EDM +2.5 (-147)
haven't pulled the trigger on either of these... but might bet both.
thoughts?
