It's time for a WEDNESDAY of FREEBIE action!! Let's roll......
PHILADELPHIA FLYERS (-110)
Washington is by far the cream of the crop in the NHL this season, as their 113 points can attest, and will have heavy odds towards making a run to the Stanley Cup come playoff time, but tonight presents a decent chance to take the Flyers on their home ice. For starters, although the Capitals come into today's game off the heels of an easy 4-1 win against the Blue Jackets on their home ice last game, they have struggled to win by two goals or more over a large chunk of their recent games. Despite going 3-3 against the PL in their L6 games, they now hold a dismal 3-17 mark against the -1.5 PL over their L20 games, failing to win by 2 goals or more in 14 straight games prior to that last stretch of 6 games. That skid doesn't really end there either, as they have won by 2+ goals in only 4 of their L26 overall and only once in their L11 away from home. The Flyers look to be a pretty safe bet themselves lately when getting a goal+, as they have either won outright or lost by 1 goal in 5 straight and at an 11-1 clip in their L12 overall. Philadelphia has been money in their home building as a +1.5 dog, as they have won or lost by less than 2 goals at a 21-3 clip in their L24 at home. They have handled themselves nicely against Washington so far this year, as after they lost the first meeting this season against the Capitals (5-2) the Flyers won the second meeting (4-3) before losing the last meeting (3-2) in Washington. In fact, the Flyers have played well against the Capitals in recent seasons, now holding a 7-3 ML record in the L10 matchups going back to 2013, with only one of those 3 losses coming by more than a single goal, this year's 5-2 loss. That includes a 4-1 ML mark in their L5 meetings held in Philly. The Flyers are currently on an 11-3-2 run overall and should be squaring off against Holtby in net for the Caps, and although he is 2-0-1 against the Flyers already this season, that only improved his recent mark to 6-4-5 against them with a GAA near 3. In net for the Flyers on the other hand is expected to be Mason, and he has been playing quite well recently, holding a 7-2-2 mark with a 1.97 GAA in his L11 starts. Take the PHILADELPHIA FLYERS on their home ice tonight.........
Best of luck to all tonight!! Let's get that money!!
