I thought it would be interesting and perhaps enlightening to some to delve into the topic of news and the dissemination of subject matter. Prior to the internet it was impossible for anyone to really have an opinion or even an idea that news wasn't always real. News programs were mainly viewed locally on regular TV and broadcast by the major networks. Very few people, if any, had access to local news from multiple geographic regions IN REAL TIME. For example, if you lived in St. Louis you watched local news on St. Louis matters. Those St. Louis viewers would not have access to local news, lets say in Los Angeles. The invention of the internet has made the world smaller and more accessible in real time, which allows for us now to see events simultaneously. I don't think any semi intelligent person would argue that, and if they did, should be slapped around with a wet dishrag.
So with that thought in mind, I have a few questions to ask. Is the news you are viewing organic and real or is it scripted? If it is scripted for topics that are mundane and of less importance or relevance could it also be possible that it is scripted for matters that are of great importance? And lastly, a question of greater import at least for me, WHO is responsible for scripting media talking points, and WHY?
Here are a few examples.
