When I did my post earlier today I wasn't feeling all that well. I was tired, sore and a little queezy. So I popped some tylenol, had a 5 hour sleep and felt pretty good after. Now, my high is a little depraved as the Vegas Golden Knights lost their first Stanley Cup Finals in their inaugaral season, to bring my losing streak to 6 in a row. This has already happened once this year, and not too long ago. So, to go along with the negative balance according to the Pregame units here of $878.00, my bankroll has taken a even more significant hit as I lost my best bet on the Cavs on Wednesday, and the Knights in the final game of the NHL.
I was talking to one of my friends about my losing streak, and he seemed a little worried about me. He was approaching me as if I had a problem with alcohol or drug abuse, or was in some sort of financial calamity. If this was 7 years ago, then his words would have hit home with me. But, I told him in sports betting you are going to have losing streaks, and sometimes you will feel that you have no idea of where you have went wrong. I also told him, that if you are a disciplined sports bettor and follow money management like I do, losing is just a cost of doing business, and that it comes with the territory. Over the past 5 years, after I rediscovered my gambling ways and adhered to discipline and money management, I have grown my bankroll and he couldn't believe that after I lost thousands of dollars over the course of the week, that overall I still have a profit. I explained to him, that I do not chase, double down and that when I lose I quickly resolve my zen, and go back to handicapping and come back on the next bet. So, I made a believer out of him and he is not one of those people who fall into peoples' discourse, you have to actually show him you are a critical thinker.
So, over the course of the week I have not done so well. I have lost 6 best bets in a row which have cost me thousands of dollars. To be quite honest, like so many of you here in the forum, SPARTAN is a great example, I really have no reservations. Of course I want to win, but knowing how to deal with losses and then move on to your next best bet is just as important as picking winners.
For all of those here who are going through a losing streak right now, don't get down on yourself because that will turn you into someone who becomes degenerate, always looking to maximize on other bets to make up for a string of losses, not handicapping the right game to win. And, for those who have bought packages from the pros here at Pregame, don't be too hard on them if they have a losing streak of say three or four in a row. It is the long term that counts. Make sure that the monies you are betting coincide with a certain percentage allocated to your bankroll, and too never double up unless your bankroll (profit) dictates it, and never chase after having a loss.
