I'll post my thoughts on games here as I complete work on them. A couple wagers I've already made, but a combination of a busy week on homefront and these games not coming easy to me leave me with work to do yet. Not going "GoY" or any nonsense on any of these.
UTSA +3.5
Can't deny the WKU train is rolling hard and fast. I will spare listing all the stat work I've got, and summarize a highlight of it instead. In WKU's hot run since losing to this UTSA in a battle back on October 9, they've played one defense better than UTSA's. Marshall. The final? A 52-21 drubbing if you didn't watch or look into it. However, Marshall had a 14-6 halftime lead. Key to the game was losing their starting QB Grant Wells to injury in that 2nd quarter. Word from the Herd was they just lost their mojo with that and you see the end result. The other teams WKU has blasted since then? All generally horrible pass defenses. UTSA's isn't that bad. #58 ranked Opp Pass First Downs and and #36 ranked Opp Completion %, for example.
I love Harris and Sincere...fun to watch talents that both have a chance to pop up in the NFL down the road in some capacity. UTSA can pass, run and play a little defense, coupled with team-wide experience.
I know the line has moved to WKU, and I know the red flag of 8-4 team being favored in the Alamodome against the 11-1 Roadrunners. Tough call for sure and with the amount of expected points I'm not sure the line matters much...but 3 and a hook is still nice.
Michigan Wolverines -10 -120
I placed this a couple days ago so I'm quite sure such a number is long gone...critical perhaps here with the low total so do consider that. But this one broke down perhaps the simplest to me and reminds me of maybe the drubbing Ohio State put on my Badgers years ago...although it won't be to that extent.
This team is damn good, and Jimmy has them dialed up. Different vibe this tear and a renewed attitude. The classic Sharp angle on such a spot would be the Let Down here. I just do not see it. The monkey is off the program's back now and they have in their lap an opportunity they thought they could only dream of. Yes the Hawkeyes D is legit to a point. Not sure it will matter here. Being on the turf in the dome will exploit the talent/speed differences a la OSU/Wisco. If anyone could be in for a real let down it is Iowa. 34-10 Meeeshagin, and on to the Playoff.
