Week 4 is in the books, time to look ahead to Week 5:
Cincinnati -1.5 at Notre Dame last Saturday, ND clobbered Wisconsin 41-13 and all of a sudden the ND team that was fortunate to beat Florida State and Toledo is completely forgotten. What we really should have learned is that Wisconsin is overrated more than anything. With ND ranked in the Top 10 and a home dog, that will be too good to pass up. This line is begging you to take ND. I'll take Cincinnati here.
Speaking of overrated Wisconsin, give me Michigan -1. The Wolverines struggled to beat Rutgers last week as they were clearly looking past them. Michigan comes in and gets it done on Saturday. 24-14 Wolverines.
Baylor +4 at Oklahoma State There is a theory that the when a team loses a star, the other guys on the team rally around the new guy and step up their game in their first game without their fallen star. Baylor lost its best defensive player, Terrell Bernard, in the Iowa State game and is about 99.5% unlikely to play Saturday against OSU. Look for a stepped up effort from the Baylor D. The OSU offense is not nearly as powerful this year as they have been in recent years. They have struggled to beat the likes of Missouri State and Tulsa. OSU has not scored a single point in the second half of their last two games. Meanwhile, I don't believe the OSU D will throw nearly as much stuff at Baylor QB as the Iowa State defense did in the second half on Saturday. I'll take the underdog Bears here.
TCU +4 against Texas Last Saturday, the Horns put up 70 on Texas Tech and have scored 126 total points since their debacle at Arkansas. Meanwhile a surprisingly leaky TCU defense got shredded against SMU for 42 points. And this was off a bye week? Yet this line is only 4? Look ahead a bit - the following Saturday (Oct 9), Texas plays Oklahoma. And this is a look ahead spot. Meanwhile, TCU has won 7 of 9 straight up against UT. Give me the home dog here.
Oregon State +2
BOL everybody!
