Just posting this as a point of information. There are no guarantees, but wind is definitely a hindrance in football, especially in CFB where the QB's are not all guys with guns for arms. There have really been only a handful of games all season where wind was a factor, this weekend there is at least 15 that I think it will be a major factor. The W. Michigan/N. Illinois game this week I handicapped as an under and increased my bet based on knowing the wind would be howling. That game went over easily. That is not the Norm though. Historically windy (15 mph or higher) games go under around 58% of the time so there is a pronounced edge. The games with cross winds can be the best bets of these. Winds going from endzone to endzone can improve scoring with short fields from ridiculously short punts, which was the case in that WMU/NIU game. Many of these games have seen significant line movement already on the totals. Also windy conditions can negate a team's advantage if they are a far superior passing team in a game. If you want to get the best numbers under I would not wait any longer. Games and estimated winds below...
Michigan@Wisconsin 19 mph cross wind (both run dominant teams, the wind is less a factor)
Minnesota@Northwestern 23 mph cross wind
TCU@Texas Tech 25 mph cross wind
SMU@Memphis 21 mph cross wind
Rutgers@Indiana 17 mph across and down wind (also rain)
Miss St.@Arkansas 21 mph cross wind
Fresno St.@Wyoming 21 mph wind end zone to end zone
Rice@Old Dominion 16 mph cross wind
Iowa St@Baylor 26 mph end zone to end zone
Texas St@Arkansas St 25 mph cross wind
Purdue@Iowa 21 mph cross wind
Syracuse@Louisville 18 mph cross wind (also rain)
Navy@Notre Dame 23 mph cross wind (also rain) Navy almost never passes, wind helps them more, but both run a lot so the total may not be affected
Kansas St@Oklahoma St. 20 mph end zone to end zone
Illinois@Ohio St. 22 mph cross wind
Oklahoma@Kansas 21 mph cross wind (Oklahoma far better at passing, wind helps the big dog)
Maryland@Michigan St. 15 mph cross wind (also rain)
Houston@Tulane 16 mph cross wind
Texas A&M@Mississippi 15 mph end zone to end zone
LSU@Tennessee 19 mph cross wind (rain also)
