West Virginia at Kansas
Took a disgusting beat in my last WVU game when I had Oklahoma and the points and WVU hit a 3 to send it to OT and ended up covering but we get right back on the horse. In this game I like West Virginia +14. Kansas is obviously the better team but West Virginia will be super motivated considering they pretty much need to win this game to have any shot at an at-large bid for the tournament. Plus Bob Huggins has a clause in his contract that pays him 20,000 dollars for any win over Kansas. If Huggins had been planning on introducing any new adjustments to his system I think it would be a safe bet that it would happen against Kansas.
I also think it's a pretty good match-up for WVU. You don't beat Kansas by out-Kansasing them which is not how WVU is built. WVU won't be banging down low with Kansas' monster front line but rather are led by their guards on offense. WVU is one of the best in the country at not turning the ball over and I think that will be huge against Kansas considering Kansas scores a lot off of other people's mistakes. Kansas is an elite defensive team but they are not elite at defending the 3, which is one of WVU's strengths. Also lately WVU's opponents have had a lot of success against them with the high ball screen but Kansas is more of a side ball screen team which is good news for WVU.
