Another so so day going 2-2. The winning plays were SMU and Oregon. Both plays were pretty easy wins especially Oregon who completely dominated and it looks like Oregon is back. The two losses were Clemson who looked terrible. I think at one point they were shooting less than 10% from the floor... The Cincy play really pissed me off as they should have won and were up by 20 in the second half before Dalton Pepper went off and resuled in Cincy not covering. That was yesterday now to look at the plays for Monday. I have a Patriot League GOM play along with two 3* plays so lets get to it!
5* Colgate +1 (Patriot League GOM)
This is the game I absolutely love on the Monday card. I love it so much that we are making it our Patriot League GOM. It may be hard to back a bottom of the barrell Patriot league team but they are going up against a worse Patriot league team. Colage is a very strong offensive team shooting close to 56% from the floor and close to 40% from downtown. Colgate is going up against Lafayette who is one of the worst teams defending the three ranking in the bottom 4 in the nation. Ethan Jacobs is going to cause issues for Lafayette as he is going to pull Dan Trist away from the basket which is going to leave Lafayette prone to offense rebounding by Colgate. Additionally, Lafayette plays some zone which is going to be a lot of trouble as Colgate is going to get a lot of good looks from the outside and should be able to shoot over the zone.
Simiar to Colgate, Lafayette is also a top 100 offense and scores their majority of their points from 3 as well. The difference between Lafayette and Colgate is that Colgate can defend the three ranking in the top 100. Ethan Jacobs should also be able to contain Dan Trist and limit the amount of second chance points. Colgate also plays great defense without fouling opponents. Lafayette is undersized and is signficantly younger which should allow Colgate to win on the road.
Colgate 79 Lafayette 69
3*
Eastern Washington +2
Eastern Washington shoots a lot of 3s and hits close to 35% of those shots. Portland State can't defend the 3s and is ranked 320 allowing teams to shoot 39%. Their defense is also bottom 330 so Eastern Washington who likes to push the pace should be able to get many open looks especially 3s. Unlike Eastern Washington, Portland State does not push the pace. Portland State doesn't turn the ball over and ranks in the bottom 260 overall. Portland State is very undersized and will be an issue for them against the stong front line of Eastern Washington. Seiferth especially should be able to dominate inside.
Eastern Washington 82 Portland State 78

Villanova -5
Villanova is a top 12 offense going up against top 70 defense. Georgetown does not rebound the ball well and Nova hits the offense glass hard which should lead to many second chance shots. Additionally, 25% of their points are from the line and Georgetown is very undisciplined which leasds to a lot of stupid fouls which is going to be an issue against Nova. Nova defense is just as good as the offense ranking in the top 35. They do not allow second chance points and Georgetown scores 54% of their points inside which is going to be issue against Nova. Nova has a very tough man defense allowing only 42% from the field. Georgetown is also prone to turnovers allowing 9 per game which is going to be troublesome against Nova!
Villanova 75 Georgetown 64
Will be releasing some leans tomorrow morning! Good luck to all!
