YTD 4-4 - 0.40 units
Tuesday Nov. 26
Jacksonville -7.5 over Seina
UT Arlington +4.5 over Murray State
UTEP -6.5 over Long Beach State
all for 1 unit each
This is my big play …………I really like this game
La Tech -5 over Richmond for 3 units …………..I got this number as soon as the lines were out. It has risen to 6 as I write this, and I still like it at -6.
Richmond is 3-3 and has struggled big time so far in this early November season. Coach Chris Mooney has had a difficult time so far tinkering with lineups. The 3 wins came at home against two D2 teams in Florida tech and mount olive and they beat D1 Maine at home 70-64
La Tech is 5-0 and three of their wins were against much higher ranked Kenpom and Dunkel D1 rated teams in UT Arlington (away ), UMass (neutral site) and Southern Illinois (neutral site) .
Both teams played and won yesterday in this tourney which is being played in Estero, Florida.
Louisiana Tech is second in the CUSA scoring 42.0 points per game in the paint led by Daniel Batcho averaging 14.0.
La Tech’s Amaree Abram is shooting 44.0% from beyond the arc with 2.2 made 3-pointers per game for the Bulldogs, while averaging 16.6 points and 3.2 steals.
La Tech averages 7.8 made 3-pointers per game this season, 0.3 more makes per game than Richmond gives up.
For me this is why I upgraded this play from a 1 unit to a 3 unit play, because Coach Mooney has tried eight different lineups so far this season, matching last year’s total and tied for the most by any Richmond team since 2016-17 (10). •
This year’s team has nine newcomers, the most in any of coach Chris Mooney’s 20 seasons at Richmond, and one returning starter (DeLonnie Hunt), which matches the fewest for the Spiders under Mooney. Delonnie Hunt is the top player who is shooting 47.9% and averaging 17.7 ppg.
I just think & feel that La Tech is catching Richmond at the right time and right location at a neutral site
