Had to lay -125 but really like this one.
I think we see a different Bama team, atleast during the first few weeks of 2021. I could even see it being a be a bit of a throw back to the mid 2010 Saban days. After putting up the most prolific offense in college football history, the departures from the Bama offense are obvious. Alabama's offense lost 6 offensive players in the first 37 picks of the NFL draft. Bama reloads better than anyone, we all know that....but I think we see an old fashion Saban grinder here. Bryce Young is a very talented player but he is different than Mac Jones. The departure of former offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian can't be understated here either. The RB room is loaded with different players who are talented enough to carry this offense on its own and the WRs are unproven outside of John Metchie. The OL is a bit green as well, and some players have been held out of scrimmages with nagging injuries. To me thats not a big part of my handicap though, we have seen Bama plug guys in the past and be fine, however I do think it's somewhat relevant.
On the flip side, I think Miami will likely improve on the defensive side of the ball this season. Manny Diaz is a defensive guy and the early indications is that even though they lose some talent up front, the defense will be a better unit than in years past. The LB group and secondary is the strength of the defense. They have over 60 starts from their 3 starters at the LB spot with good depth behind them and the secondary is loaded with talent and experience. I think we'll see a steady dose of run game from Bama, a few big passes and ultimately, Alabama leaning on their defense.
