You may remember a couple years back I ran a March Madness contest here. Planning to do the same set up this year, if there is interest.
$40 to enter, must be in by first game tip off. All funds go back out to winners, minus officefootballpool.com fee which is $1 per entry. I keep nothing.
Not a standard format here - scoring includes bonus points for picking upsets. For example, round 1 wins are worth 1 point. If you pick a #2 seed to win in round one, you are awarded 2 points. If you pick a #10 seed to win in round one, you are awarded 10 points.
In round 2, winners are worth 2 points. So that #2 seed win is worth 4 points. #10 seed winner is worth 20 points, etc.
Subsequent rounds are worth 4, 8, 16 and 32 points. So if your #6 seed pick wins it all, you will get 192 points for that win. The scoring essentially makes you get creative and not just fill out the chalkiest bracket. Having done it before, it's a lot of fun, has wild swings in the leaderboard and the most interesting Madness contest you'll be in.
I have venmo and paypal for entry fee holding. Sure, you don't know me from Adam, but enough people around here can vouch for me having held money for this before. Ven mo - @charliekennedy1 pay pal - charliekennedy1@g mail .com (if sending funds, please include your Pregame username) I will list paid entrants as they come in by your Pregame username
If we get 10 players, 1 player wins it all. With 20 players, top 2 get paid (80/20) 30 players, top 3 (70/20/10) 40+ players (60/20/10/10). If I remember correctly, we had 80+ players in 2019.
Tournament starts on Thursday, March 18 at 12pm. Let me know if you have any questions. Like Doughboy's Bakery, all are welcome.
