Final game of the CAA tournament is tonight, sitting at 5-2 on posted plays in my threads for the last two nights of plays in the CAA tourney. Going to shoot for a 7-2 record (see plays below). This should be a good game with two great head coaches leading solid CAA programs for many years. If you look at records alone, then this screams Hofstra easy, hell they were 2-0 against Northeastern in conference play, but both games were competitive down to the wire, would hope this one fits the bill as well, but can Hofstra beat Northeastern for a 3rd time?
Logic would say sure, they certainly have the players to dominate, but I am looking for Northeastern to grind this one out defensively and keep it low scoring, that has yielded great results for them the last two nights. As explained in the primer posted earlier today, Northeastern lost a bunch of close game in conference play and their overall record does not reflect how solid of a team they can be.
I am going to look for them to keep it close, low scoring if they want to win, they probably need to hold Hofstra to 65 or less, which may be a lot to ask, but they should be loose tonight and not have any pressure. Hofstra is the #1 seed and is expected by many to represent the CAA in the big dance, their play throughout the CAA conference schedule reflects that sentiment among many, but this is a championship game and your records mean nothing tonight.
Going to say Northeastern needs to keep up the scoring pace and will foul a lot in the closing minutes if they are down. Jordan Roland may need to hit some clutch 3 pointers to stay in this game late.
We'll translate that into taking Northeastern Team Total over 67 points for 1 unit and will also go Under the Total of 135 for 1 unit.
They could both lose, but would hope for a 1-1 split at the very least and maybe get lucky with a 2-0 finish to tourney.
Let's see if history repeats from last year or will Hofstra get over the hump tonight...
Good luck to all with your decisions and with the plays many have already made on this one.
