Almost a year since everything hit and am looking forward to things settling down as we head in to spring, happy to get a post up after almost a year on here. Wanted to revisit this post from last year to say JMU had tremendous success this year after firing Louis Rowe. Mark Byington came in for his 1st year and helped guide JMU to their first CAA title in 30 years, though their loss last Friday against Drexel forced them to share the title with Northeastern at 8-2 in the conference. Truly a shame that JMU had a new arena and was unable to put more than 250 people in per game. Regardless the foundation for JMU moving forward has been established and should lead to a more competitive program in the years ahead. The big loss for JMU headed in to the CAA tournament is their senior guard Matt Lewis. Lewis messed up his knee again that he had problems with before and his career just like that is over at JMU, such a sad way for him to go out after carrying the load for JMU the past 3 years providing the only real consistent offensive output during some rough seasons for the Dukes. CAA tournament primer and picks to follow as things quick off this Saturday 3/6 in Harrisonburg, VA as the site was moved from D.C. due to Covid concerns and will not be a neutral site since way back in the late 80's. Look for other posts on the CAA tournament as the week progresses.
