This will take a little bit of explaining, but in short - the contest is a bracket of 32 (or 64) Pregame members, in head to head matchups in each "leg" of this contest. Winner of each head to head matchup advances to the next round.
Rules:
1. Entry fee will be 32 shekels from 32 players. Depending on interest, maybe we could even get to 64. You must be paid and entered into the Pregame contest by Sunday night, March 8th to play. Pay Pal - charliekennedy1 at g mail dot com ven mo - will be up soon. Please include your pregame username in the notes along w/ payment.
2. There will be a Pregame "contest" posted for each week of the tournament. This will require some attention to detail. You will have to "join contest" for each step of the tourney. I will be very clear about when each contest is posted so no one misses the window.
3. ALL PICKS must be entered into each contest using the "make picks" page and then entered into the contest. Sides and totals are available. The goal is to use only the NCAA tournament. The NIT plays on days the NCAA are off. However, if there is some overlap, NIT games will be available to be picked.
3a. EDIT: **there will be a required number of picks per day. Probably 5 depending on what players suggest before we start.
(32 players enter) First leg of Pregame tourney contest action - NCAA "championship week" March 9-March 15th
(16 players enter) Second leg - Round 1 and 2 of NCAA tournament March 19 - March 22
(8 players enter) Third leg - Round 3 and 4 of NCAA tournament March 26 - March 29
(4 players enter) Fourth leg - Final Four weekend. April 4 - April 6
The winner of this 4th leg our champion and wins 100% of the prize pool. If there is enough interest and we get 64 players, we can make that work. All legs would double in the number of players. 8 players would go into final four weekend with a chance to win.
I will use this thread to post all confirmed entries (like Fishzhang does when he starts the Dman/Fish supercontest). I will also use only this thread to provide updates and answer questions during the duration of this contest.
*I will hold all funds for the tourney. I have been on pregame for three years. The site says I've only been here for two months, since my account was deleted then restored in Mid December. I ran a March Madness contest last year where I held and then paid out over $800. I think enough people know me and my rep around here that I can be trusted and will treat everyone fairly and, most importantly, will pay the winner the morning after the championship game. Heck, if I'm still awake on that Monday night, I'll send it to the winner at the final buzzer.
Anyone with a pregame account is welcome. Fire away with questions or suggestions.
