IPFW @ North Dakota St (-12.5, 138)
Alright guys, I did this bet on the sleepy j pod. I liked over 138 (think it goes into 140s) and I liked North Dakota St. I will admit at 12.5 it’s a like approaching to a weak like/lean at 13. These 2 teams did already play once @ IPFW. North Dakota St, won 71-60. The line was North Dakota St -3.5, 137. IPFW had a very weak first half, only putting up 20 points. IPFW did however put up 40 in the 2nd half.
IPFW doesn’t have a marquee win in conference, they are tied/half game back with 3 other teams. IPFW struggles when they step up in competition. To make it worse for IPFW, they play @ South Dakota St on Sunday. This is a brutal 2 game road trip.
IPFW on the road in conference is 2-3 with both wins coming to the 2 worst teams in the Summit League in Western Illinois and Denver. They lost by 14 @ North Dakota, 23 @ South Dakota, and 4 @ Omaha. The concerning thing is the 2 games versus North Dakota and South Dakota. These guys are top half of the summit league and IPFW struggled. They also won last game @ Denver, IPFW hasn’t won consecutive road games all year. The only thing I can say positive about IPFW is the fact North Dakota St plays South Dakota next game. They may be in a look ahead spot and depending on the number, IPFW might worth a play. North Dakota St beat South Dakota by 2 earlier, South Dakota will be seeking revenge in that game.
North Dakota St at home in conference this year is 5-0. They run that slow tempo which will give IPFW fits and be able to control the tempo of the game. They beat Western Illinois by 20, South Dakota by 2, North Dakota by 9, Denver by 12, and Oral Roberts by 7. Not a lot of blowouts but North Dakota State will want to take of business here.
IPFW likes to shoot 3s, North Dakota St is #2 defending the perimeter. IPFW is also #8 shooting from the field while is #1 at defending the field. Lastly, IPFW is #9 at FT while NDS is #1. All mismatches in favor of North Dakota St. IPFW is average in experience at #155 while North Dakota St is #36, neither team fouls much but when North Dakota St is getting fouled at the end, we can confidently rely on them to make their shots. IPFW gives up a lot of turnovers, they are #9 in conference at giving up turnovers on offense. North Dakota St wins 84-68. North Dakota St is fully capable of blowing out this team especially if they are hitting their 3s.
