We picked up a nice winner on the Indians yesterday to end the month of May in fine fashion. Today marks the start of June which was our second most profitable month last baseball season. We kick off the action on Sunday with our MLB Diamond Gem, our top play for Sunday.
919 Baltimore at Houston
Wei-Yin Chen will make his third career start against the Houston Astros and he'll be opposed by former Oriole Scott Feldman. Chen should be in line for some improvement as his control has improved but his numbers have not. Chen has allowed just four percent of the 250 batters he has faced to reach base via walk, but his BABIP against is .337. His 4.50 ERA overshadows a 3.76 FIP, a 3.51 xFIP, and a 3.81 SIERA.
On the other side, Scott Feldman was completely awful in the month of May and there's no reason to see that stopping against a team that is very familiar with his arsenal. After being really fortunate with batted ball luck while having a terrible defense behind him, the numbers didn't lie in May. Feldman hung a 4.71 ERA and a 4.39 FIP in the month. He allowed a slash line against of .340/.374/.516 and his fastball velocity was all over the place. He seems like a pitcher searching for his mechanics and release point right now.
