You’re reaching….Fry is no slouch but RHP vs RHH is a better matchup than Naylor with the bases loaded where an infield single, wild pitch, or walk can end it. Yes if Fry does walk then obviously walk Ramirez but I’m not pitching around Fry to to face Naylor. Yes he’s struggling but it’s a small sample size and Naylor can rake.  I’ve seen too many things can go wrong with the bases loaded. Could hate made him chase though with a base open. Great game.

You have to throw analytics out the window in games like that. If the game is strictly analytics why have managers at all?

What does analytics have to do with anything? Naylor  bats 4th and just went 2-4 the game before. I guess he’s capable of getting a hit. (With your logic you should walk Fry to pitch to Ramirez since he has a lower batting average than Naylor in the playoffs)

It’s not Bo Naylor, it’s his all star brother.

Fry didn’t even start either game, lets not overreact. Pitcher hung one. 

With bases loaded there is no margin for error.

Intriguing question. I am probably biased, since I have such a low opinion of Clay Holmes, but IMHO bringing Holes into a high leverage situation was boone's errot. Just my opinion.
