My opinion: Boone doesn’t manage. Only follows “lanes” set up by analytics dept. LA guy is same. Usually get away with it due to superior payroll/talent. Not tonight…when Boone had to play an extra innings game for first time this year … without ghost runners.

so if you take care of fry you want to face Ramirez at the bottom of the 11 then you walk him? this is going to get serious play on coaching staff of the yankees. this is not April this is October huge blunder with no excuse by the yanks ....none of this makes even a morsel of logic. If you walk their most dangerous hitter in a situation of end game in the 10th to load bases you have innings b4 you see him again and you can face a guy 2-13 in the series that has to have a base hit to end game..............

Btw….you are even more correct considering it was the demoted Clay Holmes on the mound.

Some follow analytics…some go with their gut…some utilize both…and then a small fraction go with whatever the trash cans say…

Did you watch the last 2 games of NLDS? I’d say that LA guy just plain did a helluva job…

9-0 and 8-0 is a lot different than managing a tie game in extra innings.
