this handicap is dedicated to professional handicapper Dave Cokin who passed earlier today at his home in Las Vegas Nevada.
Cokin was a great Mlb capper who always had great write ups and knowledge to share. He didn’t play a lot of totals and usually took the Under if he did . This play is a total and its on the over lol I couldn’t pass this up.

Luis Castillo Sea 8-10 3.38 XERA 3.86 vs James Paxton Bos 8-2 4.43 XERA 4.87.
Both teams come in struggling out of the all-star break, SEA (4-7) & BOS (3-7) but both, have aspirations of playing in the postseason and have made the moves to prove it. Sea lacking in offense, brought in Randy Arozerina from the Rays, who’s 4 for 11 batting 454 since joining the team. and just yesterday they brought in veteran slugger Justin Turner just in time to make his Sea debut vs his former team tonight.
The Red Sox who were lacking in pitching brought in two pitchers (so far) with Paxton being one of them. Paxton comes in 8-2 with a 4.43 Era this season
8-2 is an impressive record especially at home where he was 4-0 with a 3.86 ERA but that was for the LA Dodgers. Paxton was also supported by an average of 7 runs per game. In his last 3 games at home, he had a 3.37 era and was supported with avg of 9.66 in run support. he also walked 8 and struck out only 12.
Although Paxton will not have the luxury of having the mighty Dodger lineup to pad his stats. However, the Red Sox are not too far behind in offensive output. They are 7th in Runs scored as opposed to the Dodgers who sit at 4th.
The number is set at a whopping 10.5 although I see paxton getting run support in this matchup, I also see him giving up some vs a new and improved Seattle Mariner lineup.
Behind the plate today will be Janson Visconti. Average runs scored in Visconti called games is 9.5 in 20 games officiated with of course the starters getting the worst of it giving up an average of 6.15 rpg.
The over and under with Visconti is 13-7 to the Over. The over has not been set this high in a Visconti called game and I can only imagine the salivation coming from his mouth. If you see a stain in his grey pants, well there you go and then you’ll know. (Please wear blk james). (Fun fact mlb umpires are required to wear black underwear as part of their uniform in case their pants split due to all the squatting bending etc. and not for the reason I mentioned lol imagine an um forgetting and wearing polka dot underwear? Now that would be a sight to behold!)
Anyhow, I know its a high number but I think the combination of both pitchers and both offenses (one new and improved) along with a man who is known for overs and who has a heavy influence on the outcome behind the plate, can and will get us there..
