909 Rockies (+130) over Padres (Gomber vs Knehr)
I think the Rockies are worth taking another shot on in this spot as they are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings against the Padres and 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in San Diego including winning the last 2 games in this series as big underdogs. The Padres opened up as a nice size favorite around -165 but with a rookie pitcher in Reiss Knehr who’s made his only start of the season against the Rockies that didn’t go so well (3.2 IP, 3 hits, 2 ER and 4 walks) the line has significantly moved to the Rockies even though the Padres are getting close to 8 of 10 tickets and 80+% of the money and I think the Rockies lineup should hit him pretty good again. Austin Gomber has made 3 career starts and 5 appearances against the Padres and he’s 1-0 with a 0.86 ERA and 0.76 WHIP and during day games they’re a top 10 hitting lineup. Also the Padres are dealing with a serious injury to their best player Fernando Tatis Jr. that has landed him on the IL and the latest report stated if he doesn’t show any sign of improvement with his shoulder he could have season ending surgery so I wonder about the mindset of this team as they wait on the news about their star player.
