Arihara’s been OK in his three starts for the Rangers. In his MLB debut, he gave up 3 runs on 6 hits and 0 walks over 5 innings at KC, with just 1 K in the Rangers 11-4 loss. In his next start v the Padres, Arihara gave up 3 more runs (2 earned) on 5 hits and a walk, but only lasted 4 innings. His best start was his last one at the Raym in which Arihara tossed 5.2 scoreless innings, but gave up just 3 hits and no walks, with 5 Ks.
Bundy has also made three starts and pitcher well in all three. In the season opener against the White Sox, Bundy gave up 3 runs on 6 hits and 1 walk, with 6 Ksin the Angels 4-3 win. His nxt start against the Astros was even better as Bundy gave up just 2 runs on 4 hits (2 HRs) and 2 walks over 6 innings with 10 Ks in a 4-2 lo6 Ks in a ss. toiugh 3-2 loss. Finally in his most recent start at the Royals, Bundy gave up 5 hits and 2 walks over 7 innings, with 6 Ks in a 3-2 loss.
Arihara is still a very unknown quantity coming from Japan, while Bundy is coming off a dominant 2020 and has the better numbers this season.. I have a lot more faith in Bundy.

May has started two games for the Dodgers this season. In his first start in OAK May was impressive, tossing 6 scoreless innings giving up just 2 hits and 2 walks over 6 innings, with 8 Ks. He struggled more in his next start , giving up just 2 runs, but 7 hits and a walk over just 4.1 innings with 6 Ks.
Sheffield has also made 2 starts for the Mariners this season, His first, against the White Sox in SEA, was rough, as he gave up 6 runs (4 earned) on 8 hits and 2 walks over 5 innings, with 5 Ks. However, Sheffield was much better in his second start at BALT, giving up just 2 runs on 3 hits and 1 walk, with 5 Ks.
Although very early and preliminary, May has the better numbers, pretty much across the board.

I still don’t like Jansen as the Dodgers closer. He scares the hell out of me. I still give the Dodgers a small edge, but it’s close enough to call even.

This is where the Dodgers have the biggest edge. They’re just the better hitting team pretty much across the board.
Edge - LAD
Conclusion – My biggist concern in this one is that coming off that big series with the Padres, the Dodger could have a letdown. They’re probably rest some starters, but I suspect their bench players might well be a good as the Mariners’ starters. I’m more concerned that moght overlook the Mariners. Still they remain the best and most consistent team in baseball.
