I wouldn't normally like any team coming off a 19-run performance, altitude or not.
But the Rockies today face Robbie Ray, who will be making his 4th start coming off the disabled list. His first comeback start was solid in Miami, allowing only 2 hits over 6 scoreless innings. Then a very rocky start at home against St Louis, blasted for 9 hits and 6 earned runs in just 5 innings and 90+ pitches. Then another home start, and another rough outing, allowing 3 homers and 4 walks to the Padres and not even making it though 5 innings. So for Ray.... what gives.
Today he faces Colorado, who clearly have seen him many times in the past as a division rival.
Blackmon 30 at bats, hits .500 with 4 homers
Arenado 25 at bats, hits .320 with 1 homer
Desmond 5 at bats, hits .600 with 1 homer
Cargo 17 at bats, hits .412 with 1 homer
Parra 11 at bats, hits .364 with 1 homer
Story 13 at bats, hits .308 with 2 homers
Colorado stays at home this week, so it's definitely not a "mail it in" / get away day.
There's a wind blowing in but a more than fair home plate ump in Winters, I'm trying to get to 6 here for the winner.
A 13-run regression from yesterday brings home the cash!
Good luck everyone.
