The Brady thing has been going on for 7 months now and there is no real news on what is happening with the Brady suspension.
The update is that Goodell has been pushed by certain owners to keep the suspension at 4 games, while in Brady's camp they are saying that he will not stand for even a 1 game suspension. The NFL seems to be happy just to get 1 game right now, but Brady doesn't even want that.
It is absurd that all this has taken so long.
Peter King states that the NFL has no proof whatsoever that Brady told anyone to purposely deflate the balls. He also states that back over the years, Brady's home stats are the same as his road stats, so if the fix was in for home games it certainly didn't matter at all. Peter also feels that the smartest thing to do right now would be to defer the sanctions till the end of the year. They will have a chance to measure games more and come up with a better understanding of what's happening with the ball in certain conditions.
Everyone is saying that the Wells report is a joke and Dave feels that Brady will serve no suspension, but maybe just get a fine. Something did happen, but the NFL just can't prove it.
Is it time for Roger Goodell to go? He has looked bad the last few years and it really started back with Big Ben, who go 6 knocked down to 4, but still the case never went to court. There was the Rice debacle last year as well and the Hardy situation.
Brady and Goodell met a month ago and here we are still without a final decision.
Dave feels that Goodell is really hanging by the slimmest of threads right now. He will not have a happy ending.
