Yesterday Tom Brady met with the league to appeal his suspension that was set at 4 games.
Brady met with Goodell for about 11 hours yesterday and reports are that he wants the whole suspension taken away. He will not settle for a reduction. It seems that Brady is thinking that even a 1 game suspension will tarnish his reputation.
Ken feels that maybe the NFL will start thinking that this is a bout ratings and that first game is on national TV, so Roger may just say that their is no use fighting with someone that has meant so much to the sport.
Still to Ken, he was caught cheating and their is no info to refute that, so he doesn't see how Goodell reduces the suspension and if he does then that means the Wells report was for nothing.
Scott agrees and states that once you have levied a fine or suspension against a team or player that you should keep it. He does state that he thought the 4 games was a bit much and that it should have originally been 2 games. Scott feels that Goodell can not knock this down to zero games.
Ken states that maybe it didn't affect them in the game vs the colts, but the prior game vs the Ravens there were players stating that something was off with the weight of the balls and that game was close. Also this isn't the first time that the Pats have been caught cheating, as they were involved in Spygate as well. This team has a history of pushing and overstepping the rules and both Scott and Ken feel that because of the track record he definitely should be suspended.
