I loved the way the Devils fought against the Lightning in their last game. Each time they went down, they responded to tied the game. More importantly for their offense, Timo Meier broke out of his slump in a big way with 2 goals. He also has found a nice spot on their top power play unit playing the left slot. The Devils sit 1 point back of Carolina for first place despite losing 2 straight games. Akira Schmid is in net tonight after that solid performance against Tampa and he’s actually been really good this year. He has a 1.98 GAA and .924 save percentage in his 12 starts. I give him the edge over Bobrovsky in this game and with the Devils speed and skill, I think they absolutely can get the better of the Panthers.
