The Phillies need to snap out of their funk and they have the right guy to do it behind here tonight. Zack Wheeler returns from the IL to start against the Blue Jays and Wheeler was having a solid season before he went on the shelf. The Phillies will be using Noah Syndergaaard out of the bullpen today to piggyback Wheeler as they monitor his pitch count. That gives the Phillies an edge here pitching wise with Wheeler and Syndergaard getting the bulk of the innings. Kevin Gausman meanwhile is coming off back to back starts in which he allowed 5 runs in each. In fact, he has allowed 18 runs on 35 hits in his last 30 innings. With the Phillies essentially throwing 2 solid starters at the Blue Jays today, as a small favorite I like them to win.
