Both teams are in rebuilt mode. Texas doesn't play well at home. The A's are better on the road. The starting pitching favors Oakland with James Kaprielian versus Glenn Otto. So I'm willing to take this price on the underdog A's. 

My handicap is based more as a play-against Texas rather than being excited about Oakland. This is a case of bad-on-bad with a nice mid-ranged price going for the underdog.

The Rangers are seven games below .500 when playing at home. They have lost 10 of their 14 games at Globe Life Field. Oakland is 24-35 on the road compared to 17-39 at home. 

Kaprielian is 3-6 with a 4.38 ERA. However, he's going through the best stretch of the season. Kaprielian's fastball is up to nearly 98 mph after being clocked below 95 mph earlier in the season. He has given up five earned runs in his last four starts spanning 21 1/3 innings. 

Otto shouldn't be in a big league rotation. He's 4-8 with a 5.20 ERA. His home ERA is 6.69. Otto has a career 9.24 ERA against the A's in three career starts.
