3* on BALTIMORE ORIOLES
I really like these Orioles in this spot tonight. We've cashed in going against these Red Sox the last two night & I'm going against them again tonight. Boston gives the ball to youngster Winckowski & he's been hit very hard at Fenway Park this season. Winckowski at home this season: 6 starts, 6.18 .ERA, a whopping 1.74 WHIP, 6 HR's allowed, 12 BB & just 13 k's & a very high .319 OBA allowed. He was smacked around in his lone start vs Baltimore this season; 3 IP, 6 hits, 4 ER, HR, 3BB/4K's. The O's give the ball to Kremer & he's got a solid 3.43 .ERA this season & he's coming off shutting out the Pirates for 6 1/3 innings, allowing just 4 hits & zero walks. Kremer has not faced these Red Sox this season. I do expect him to outpitch Winckowski and leave the game with a lead before giving the ball to the very good Baltimore bullpen to close out the game. One thing that I really love about this game is the huge bullpen edge we have with Baltimore. The Red Sox bullpen is abysmal and especially since the all-star break: They rank dead last in all of MLB in bullpen .ERA 6.56 & WHIP 1.65. I also like the fact that Boston is more potent vs LH pitching. Another thing that I really like for tonight is that this Orioles offense is rolling along & ranks 1st in the American League in .OPS .783 & ranks 2nd in wRC+ 121 since the all-star break. I also like the fact that Baltimore had yesterday off due to their game being called (rain out). The bottom line for me here is that I'm all over this streaking and still legitimately making a strong run for the post-season, while these spiraling Red Sox area all but out of it realistically. Strong value for me here on Baltimore as an underdog here & I really see great value on them in this spot tonight.
