I like the Blue Jays in this spot tonight. My long term subscribers know that I really like Manoha and look for spots to back him. I really like him at his HOME park tonight. He's been dominant at Rogers Centre in his 2 years in the big leagues. Moanoha at Rogers Centre; 16 starts, 10-1, 2.24 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, only 6 HR's allowed, a 4/1 K/BB ratio and just a .169 .OBA against. He also has been dominant vs these Red Sox in his 3 career starts (including 7 shutout innings vs them this season). Current RedSox have a comined .133 BAA Manoha with zero HR's and only Verdugo has an extra base hit off him. The Red Sox gagged away the game last night to Toronto as they're without their stud closer Houck for the series. Tonight they hand the ball to their hottest SP in Pivetta and after a terrible April he's been very consistent for them. He has been hit hard by these Blue Jays this season. In his two starts vs them: 8 2/3 IP, 7 ER, 10 hits, 8 BB, 10K's. Current Blue Jays have a combined .294 .BAA & a .882 .OPS vs Pivetta. I do epxect a better effort out of Pivetta in this spot, but I do think that Totonto eventually gets to him again. I also expect Manoha to again limit this Boston offense and hand the ball off to the best arms in the Blue Jays bullpen to close the game out. I also like the fact that the Red Sox are missing it's main piece (their closer) out of their bullpen and that has a ripple effect for the rest of their bullpen. I really like the Blue Jays in this spot tonight.
