The Marlins had a lot factors working in their favor for Game 1 of this series except for the pitching matchup (Lopez vs Wainwright) and that’s how it played out for the game as Lopez 5 earned runs compared to Wainwright who continues to find ways to have dominant performances as he gets older and doesn’t have the velocity that he once had. Miami has a lot of the same factors working in their favor for Game 2 of this series plus they have the slight starting pitching edge with Braxton Garrett vs Dakota Hudson. Garrett has had a solid ERA this month but his FIP and xFIP suggests that he should be slightly better while Hudson’s numbers suggests that he’s been slightly below average. With Miami getting shut out last night I expect for them to bounce back with a better performance as they’ve had a 56% winning percentage this month going into last nights game.
